When we think about environmental issues, we may sometimes feel that the best thing to do is nothing—to remain still. But I do not want to see it that way. This work is inspired by the large American cars of the 1960s. Made from soil and bamboo, the car is planted with seeds so that flowers and grass gradually grow over and cover it.
When we think about death, we feel fear within ourselves, just as the Earth may fear being destroyed by human beings. However, if we realize that we ourselves are part of this world, death no longer feels quite so frightening. Likewise, if we see the modern world as a myth, we can become part of nature once again and continue to create within it.
