One year ago today, over 20,000 people flocked to Guandu Nature Park to celebrate the opening of 2015 Guandu International Outdoor Sculpture Festival “A Tribute to Tides.” It’s was a big encouragement for us, but we also felt frustrated as the event quality was much affected by the unexpected crowd.

Since then, we keep reflecting our original intention and reasons to introduce art into a wetland reserve like Guandu Nature Park. Looking into the future, it is also essential to remind ourselves never to organize any event by sacrificing our own environment.

Today, the artists of the year will arrive in Taipei to get ready, and 2016 Guandu International Nature Art Festival is about to begin officially. With a new project title and the annual theme “Based on A True Story”, we are going to listen carefully to the hidden messages behind what we perceive, and try to comprehend the real situation of nature. We sincerely invite you to join this journey with us.
