This artwork is meant to “represents” the process of archaeology and excavation. We know that archaeology is basically to examine the material culture and environment for analysis and to use to the data to reconstruct a life appearance. In addition, representation has always been a very important way to transmission aesthetics and meaning. Michel Foucault in his <Words and Things> also mentioned the concept that each historical stage has a set of rules of knowledge structure. From an aesthetic point, it's same as create artwork. I hope that through this "alternative" archaeology and excavation in the Guandu Nature Park, art will become a concrete way to more deeply intervene in (the visible and invisible) space and time.
